Minutes 29 September 06 – 3rd Vail Preservation Meeting Held at J’aime le Café

Updates on pending Non-Profit Status and Historic Status

 

Officers needed to finish the Arizona Non Profit Articles of Incorporation application.

 

JJ Lamb Statutory Agent/President

Paul Barnett –Vice President

Elizabeth Webb –Secretary

Wayne Wilkerson –Treasurer

 

As PO boxes are currently unavailable at the Vail Post Office, the address for The Vail Connection will be used on The Vail Preservation Committee Application.

Board Members needed.

JJ will work on acquiring board members from the community.

 

Chauncey and Patty Kelley have agreed to do a long term lease on the building. Details still need to be worked out.

 

Wayne suggested a trust, but not an irrevocable trust, the idea being that the building needs to be used for the original intended purpose under the long term lease. Wayne will ask a friend of his that is out of Arizona for some ideas.

 

JJ is waiting to hear back from her attorney as well.

Elizabeth has purchased 30 minutes of time with a Non Profit Attorney through Lawyer’s Referral Service and is waiting to schedule a time to discuss the issue.

 

JJ will work with Mary Ann Cleveland on National Historic Status.

 

Updates on Restoration:

 

JJ spoke with Eric Means on Sat. Sept 30th, -needs to finish big projects before he can work on this-possibly 2-3 months from now.

 

Updates on the 1st Annual Vail Heritage Day to be held on Saturday, October 14th.

 

Please attend the volunteer meeting at J’Aime le Café this Friday, October 6th at 7am. We need to firm up all areas as the festival is approaching quickly. Additionally, we will update everyone on the details for 14th.
